On Sunday, February 26, at 7:00 pm, Brighton Theology on Tap will host an event in the spirit of Valentine's Day, with two parts.
In the first part, we will have a short panel discussion in which some "successful Catholic daters" (i.e., those who got married in the Church) share their experiences about the sometimes surprising differences between what characteristics they looked for while dating and what their married life has actually demanded of them.
In the second part, we will have very short "speed dating" sessions (not much more than ice breakers) in which the men and women have a formal opportunity to talk with each other one on one. Please send your email and contact information to carmenlara09 "-at-" gmail. if you are interested in registering for the speed dating. The event will take place, as usual, at The Greenbriar Irish Pub, 304 Washington St., Brighton MA 02135. |

and Easter this year we are offering a weekly evening of faith formation for
adults on Thursdays from 7:00-8:30 pm in the lower church. On each of the ten Thursdays from

of the breadth, beauty, goodness and truth of the Catholic faith through visits
to fifty locations in fifteen countries by one of the Church’s best theologians

On January 29, at 7 pm at the Greenbriar Irish Pub, Brighton Theology on Tap will be hosting Dr. David Franks, Professor at St. John’s Seminary in Boston and Chairman of the Board at Massachusetts Citizens for Life, on the topic "Why Assisted Suicide Abandons the Suffering." There are no simple solutions for suffering, just the patience and wisdom of love. When the disabled and elderly consider themselves burdensome, is it the loving thing to give them drugs so that they can commit suicide? This fall, it is likely that Massachusetts voters will be faced with a referendum to decriminalize assisted suicide. Join us as Dr. David Franks explains why "assisted" suicide is really a failure to help the person in need.
Where: Greenbriar Irish Pub, 304 Washington St., Brighton MA 02135

The Catholic Church actually has four different Masses for Christmas: The Vigil of Christmas, Christmas Mass at Night, Christmas Mass at Dawn, and Christmas Mass During the Day. Each of these Masses counts to fulfill the obligation to attend Christmas Mass, but there is an ancient tradition to attend more than one. We will celebrate those Masses at the following times: December 24: The Vigil of Christmas: 4 pm Christmas Mass at Night: 8 pm (this Mass will be in Spanish and English). This will be proceeded by a Christmas Concert, starting at 7:30. December 25: Christmas Mass at Dawn: 7:30 am Christmas Mass During the Day: 9:30 am, 11:15 am, and 12:45 pm (en Español)
There will not be a 5 pm Mass. All Christmas Masses, and all Masses until the Feast of the Epiphany, are in the upper church. |
